Location - Aurora, WVSituated in the beautiful rural town of Aurora, WV, the Jacob's Ladder addiction treatment community is bound together by Brookside Farm, the residential home and studios, and Cathedral State Park. Originally a German settlement, the town initially was named Salem and later became Mount Carmel. The current name, Aurora, finally came to be following suggestion that the moniker address the town's high altitude. Farming and timber have long been the backbone of this special healing place, and both have become integral in the daily life & activities at Jacob's Ladder. The peaceful surroundings - gentle rolling mountains, forest, and pastureland - can be summarized as the very definition of serenity.
