Our personalized addiction treatment modelOur approach is multi-disciplinary and will treat the whole person, not just addiction.
A typical "day on the ladder" includes daily chores, morning and evening meditation, mindful farming, lecture/education, step work, structured free time, 12-step meetings, and Jacob’s Ladder Community Meetings. Once or twice weekly, off site recreation, recreation therapy and individual, group and/or family therapy should be expected. Wilderness adventure therapy is also an important aspect to our programming, as it provides naturally exciting experiences that proves that substances are not needed to have fun. Upon arrival we will conduct a bio-psycho-social assessment of our clients. This will include a chemical, psychological, nutritional, and medical assessment. Based on the outcomes of the assessments, and in collaboration with the client's stated goals, we will create personalized addiction treatment plans. Regular meetings of the entire management team (addiction counselors, chemical dependency techs, farm manager, music & arts director, etc.) will review each individuals progress and shape phase progressions for the individuals and the broader group. Facilitated meetings and appointments for individuals or group programs will compliment our structured schedule. |

Individual TherapyOur residents have weekly focused mentoring sessions with their primary counselor. Clinical therapies will be recommended after initial assessments and arranged as necessary. Counseling sessions will be individually customized and will address the current needs of the individual based on self-progress and also will take Jacob's Ladder's staff assessments under consideration.

CommunityTherapyWe will have daily community meetings, facilitated by our addiction counselors and staff. In community meetings we will address community strengths, community problem areas, individual step work and step progression, family dynamics, as well as open dialogue about progress and concerns for group members. In our groups we will help our clients put love into action. We will teach them assertive communication and how to demonstrate healthy boundaries/care with our peers. We will also discuss topics like; shame, guilt, men's issues in recovery, sexuality, spirituality, grief, loss, etc.

Family TherapyJacob’s Ladder believes that our residents deserve a family that is educated about the disease that they will manage as part of their lifelong recovery. This important element in an overall treatment program is often overlooked by other treatment offerings.. Jacob’s Ladder implements a family therapy program to educate families on addiction, and more importantly to facilitate family counseling necessary for establishing appropriate relationships for family connection in the future.
